   To amend title 38, United States Code, to change the date for the 
beginning of the Vietnam era for the purpose of veterans benefits from 
                 August 5, 1964, to December 22, 1961.

  Mr. D'Amato introduced the following bill; which was read twice and 
             referred to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs

                                 A BILL


 
   To amend title 38, United States Code, to change the date for the 
beginning of the Vietnam era for the purpose of veterans benefits from 
                 August 5, 1964, to December 22, 1961.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 101(29) of 
title 38, United States Code, is amended by striking out ``August 5, 
1964'' and inserting in lieu thereof ``December 22, 1961''.
