                     ELIGIBILITY FOR REFUGEE STATUS

  Mr. REID. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the Senate 
proceed to the consideration of Calendar No. 288, H.R. 1840.
  The PRESIDING OFFICER. The clerk will report the bill by title.
  The legislative clerk read as follows:

       A bill (H.R. 1840) to extend eligibility for refugee status 
     of unmarried sons and daughters of certain Vietnamese 
     refugees.

  There being no objection, the Senate proceeded to consider the bill.
  Mr. REID. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that the bill be 
read a third time and passed, that the motion to reconsider be laid 
upon the table with no intervening action or debate, and that any 
statements relating thereto be printed in the Record.
