                                 AN ACT


 
  To extend the life of the Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary Commission.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

     This Act may be cited as the ``Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary 
Commission Act of 2005''.

SEC. 2. BENJAMIN FRANKLIN TERCENTENARY COMMISSION.

    Section 9(b) of the Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary Commission Act 
(Public Law 107-202; 36 U.S.C. note prec. 101) is amended by striking 
``not later than January 16, 2007'' and inserting ``not later than 
January 16, 2009''.

            Passed the House of Representatives September 20, 2006.
