		<official-title display="yes">Celebrating the contributions of small businesses and entrepreneurs in every community in the
			 United States during <quote>National Small Business Week</quote>, beginning on May 1 through May 7, 2016.</official-title>

	<preamble>
 <whereas><text>Whereas <quote>National Small Business Week</quote> has been declared by every President since 1963;</text> </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas there are more than 28,000,000 small businesses in the United States;</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas small businesses represent 99.7 percent of all businesses with employees in the United States;</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas small businesses employ over 48 percent of the employees in the private sector in the United States;</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas nearly 90 percent of United States employers have less than 20 employees;</text> </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas small businesses constitute 98 percent of firms exporting goods;</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas small businesses are responsible for more than 46 percent of private sector output;</text> </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas small businesses are responsible for creating 63 percent of new jobs; and</text>
 </whereas><whereas><text>Whereas May 1, 2016, through May 7, 2016, will be celebrated as <quote>National Small Business Week</quote>: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble> <resolution-body id="H46E42A82228740D6BECBB59228A040FC" style="traditional"> <section display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H09828EA4C2EE428EB38B40C4544946A6" section-type="undesignated-section"><enum></enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">That the House of Representatives—</text>
 <paragraph id="HE7690650EF134C2FB4790B160EEF9840"><enum>(1)</enum><text>celebrates the contributions of small businesses and entrepreneurs in every community in the United States during <quote>National Small Business Week</quote>;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H97AC1F873E474E0488C908E8AC04345B"><enum>(2)</enum><text>supports the designation of <quote>National Small Business Week</quote>;</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H9A8808284E2043F8847D57922C20D58B"><enum>(3)</enum><text>recognizes the importance of creating policies which promote an environment in which small businesses may succeed; and</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="HC1E3BBC37EC04A469009A1FAFC4DF6EA"><enum>(4)</enum><text>supports efforts to—</text> <subparagraph id="H7560E057DD544944A56658FE15C8DEBC"><enum>(A)</enum><text>encourage consumers to utilize small businesses; and</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="H24128AE555F94536827844111FD6D80A"><enum>(B)</enum><text>increase awareness of the value of small businesses and the impact small businesses have on the economy of the United States.</text>
