			 friendly, and for other purposes.</official-title></form>

 <section id="H89C9E4DAC9F74E9CA62BCDC7D932A94B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Connected Government Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H2172EACBEB2C45CD9D8C26CB446C5A9E"><enum>2.</enum><header>Federal websites required to be mobile friendly</header> <subsection id="H44955756A4BD4CB9BCF31D9DBDB0F5BF"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">If, on or after the date that is 6 months after the date of the enactment of this Act, an agency creates a website that is intended for use by the public or updates a website that is intended for use by the public, the agency shall ensure that the website is mobile friendly.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="H5821ADF7E11D4660A63896528E457124"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Report by FCC, NTIA, and GSA required</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 18 months after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Federal Communications Commission, in consultation with the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information and the Administrator of General Services, shall submit a report that describes the implementation of the requirement described under subsection (a) and assesses the compliance of each agency with such requirement to each of the following:</text>
 <paragraph id="HE984B767F8AA4A8EA3D49702D3B519AF"><enum>(1)</enum><text>The Committee on Energy and Commerce of the House of Representatives.</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="HB045C60D814C4CE7A2F1A5B06E27B849"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="HCF5B8D95DDE440A2989B926D84AE7BA2"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform of the House of Representatives.</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H8F11BD5D274144C5AA2427FE5ACF4B57"><enum>(4)</enum><text>The Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate.</text>
 </paragraph></subsection><subsection commented="no" id="H665CF938C9BC429EA74AD9A3B4E1EF87"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In this section:</text> <paragraph id="H583725F3FE5F43B0BA4C4C06A2CA71D7"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Agency</header><text>The term <term>agency</term> has the meaning given that term in section 551 of title 5, United States Code.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="HA59D30DE87024504BCB948F794CADA13"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Mobile friendly</header><text>The term <term>mobile friendly</term> means, with respect to a website, that the website is configured in such a way that the website may be easily navigated and viewed on a smartphone, tablet computer, or similar mobile device.</text>
