			 Security is undertaking to combat the threat of vehicular terrorism, and
			 for other purposes.</official-title></form>
	<legis-body id="HD6E98E9CDB044053978D1E6194EEA19E" style="OLC">
 <section id="H59D5F4DD63404B3189FCC82259152946" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Vehicular Terrorism Prevention Act of 2017</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="HD58F1697BB1749A0B1826342B3757CA3"><enum>2.</enum><header>Report on vehicular terrorism</header> <subsection id="H63A78B3841734C6CA6312A4FB88148C4"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than six months after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall—</text>
 <paragraph id="H39B70DAFAFFE42C583B2FD4DF73FD3AE"><enum>(1)</enum><text>examine what actions the Department of Homeland Security is undertaking to combat the threat of vehicular terrorism; and</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H95A874E8EB4047B1A65D28BEEEAE40FE"><enum>(2)</enum><text>submit to the Committee on Homeland Security of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate a report that contains information relating to the findings and recommendations resulting from such examination.</text>
 </paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H06EE6EF33ACA48698906FB24816D9D4E"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Contents</header><text>The report required under subsection (a) should outline the following:</text> <paragraph id="H78C01527C6B44F6A9A41A5264FFDA350"><enum>(1)</enum><text>An examination of the current threat level for vehicular terrorism.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H96A80AEAA3D0467981AF80B2E9D77A2F"><enum>(2)</enum><text>An examination of what the Department of Homeland Security is currently doing to guard against vehicular terrorism.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="HD41BC3E23C544A71B15E2721712571A9"><enum>(3)</enum><text>An examination of how the threat of vehicular terrorism may be mitigated.</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H759AC251D6234C6C85EC0A3C124DF842"><enum>(4)</enum><text>An examination of the extent to which the Department of Homeland Security is doing any outreach or training with private sector partners in response to these threats of vehicular terrorism.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H1203E15A553741CF9269A214AC756B7D"><enum>(5)</enum><text>An examination of any actions that Congress can take to help the Department of Homeland Security mitigate the threat of vehicular terrorism.</text>
 </paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H299A33D918F74FE6B530C09F3A96366E"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Vehicular terrorism defined</header><text>In this section, the term <quote>vehicular terrorism</quote> means any action that utilizes automotive transportation to inflict violence and intimidation on individuals for a political purpose.</text>
