			 United States Armed Forces who served in the Pacific Theater of World War
			 II, and for other purposes.</official-title></form>
	<legis-body id="H80BFDA84EE9D45B4939FA96909E0D3B6" style="OLC">
 <section id="HD0A0C824FFCC4462A73ACD604B8451BB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Admiral Lloyd R. <quote>Joe</quote> Vasey Pacific War Commemorative Display Establishment Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="HA5F11F7FEE1D43A7938A0CD7D6651A96"><enum>2.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this Act:</text>
 <paragraph id="HB51CB2A138CE4A83B1CBB612D6ABE532"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Association</header><text>The term <term>Association</term> means Pacific Historic Parks, a corporation that is—</text> <subparagraph id="H683204B5099F4D5FAE73EADA9BB5BE6E"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">a cooperating association with the National Park Service;</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph id="HDE4092E978034FC9AB84D9B0E1E3D979"><enum>(B)</enum><text>organized under the laws of the State of Hawaii; and</text> </subparagraph><subparagraph id="H800FD1A15B4140CCBD73B9C7AFE39981"><enum>(C)</enum><text>described in <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/501">section 501(c)(3)</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and exempt from taxation under section 501(a) of that Code.</text>
 </subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H02A2B313BE9C4DA8947E0B28D7503B3B"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Director</header><text>The term <term>Director</term> means the Director of the National Park Service.</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H89B5AA39C3934B1FA2242BD2B64E69A4"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Commemorative display</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>commemorative display</term> means the Pacific Theater of World War II Commemorative Display authorized to be established under section 4(a).</text>
 </paragraph></section><section id="H339F39AB5C48410C9B0C4F9277E8879E"><enum>3.</enum><header>Purposes</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The purposes of this Act are to—</text> <paragraph id="H9F824EE841B14D6597827F16F3DC85FA"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">honor the brave members of the United States Armed Forces who fought on behalf of the United States of America in the Pacific Theater during World War II;</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="HCF442A3F0C0344D0A1BC636D27159B7F"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">provide a place to mourn the more than 150,000 American and allied lives lost in the Pacific Theater during World War II; and</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H47F17C26668B471FBB09767834932F0E"><enum>(3)</enum><text>educate the public about United States battles in the Pacific Theater and its role in World War II.</text> </paragraph></section><section id="HB5343579B7C7435285ADCE3DEB6F4D02"><enum>4.</enum><header>Pacific theater commemorative display</header> <subsection id="HC2A2C01E173940ADB303F0A9028B6779"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Authorization To establish commemorative display</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Association may establish and maintain a commemorative display to honor the members of the United States Armed Forces and Allies who served in the Pacific Theater during World War II.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="H0FDB6D06335142ADAD89C6A160DCA9DF"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Use of Federal funds prohibited</header><text>Federal funds may not be used to design, procure, prepare, install, or maintain the commemorative display, but the Director may accept and expend contributions of non-Federal funds and resources for such purposes.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H31CBC8F3FB3E48FA83E3D65465F86528"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Location of commemorative display</header>
 <paragraph id="H47462D09C1C74C91B4931961721E6D02"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Director may allow the commemorative display to be established at a suitable location at the Pearl Harbor site of the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument in Honolulu, Hawaii.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H5FC4B614350548FA9E1F1355D4B741F5"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Condition</header><text>The commemorative display may not be established at any location under the jurisdiction of the Director until the Director determines that an assured source of non-Federal funding has been established for the design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of the commemorative display.</text>
 </paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HA96C629E956F4CDD99B774EE4607E25B"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Design of the commemorative display</header><text>The final design of the commemorative display shall be subject to the approval of the Director.</text></subsection></section></legis-body><endorsement><action-date>March 21, 2018</action-date><action-desc>Reported without amendment</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
