 <section id="H3E9820F5A20048AF8FC3E905E4B6BB5E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>DHS Interagency Counterterrorism Task Force Act of 2017</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="HF3B44DF3B147488A9C7F0567E1614727"><enum>2.</enum><header>Overseas interagency counterterrorism task force participation</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 102 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/6/112">6 U.S.C. 112</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>

				<subsection id="H186F9561F96A48B5AB215230B9F8D262"><enum>(h)</enum><header>Coordination with other Federal departments and agencies overseas</header>
 <paragraph id="H13078654E4A74EC4B74BEF7DFE092819"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary is authorized to assign Department personnel to participate in overseas interagency counterterrorism task forces to—</text>
 <subparagraph id="H0AABE6937D7E4C559A672C4577EB0411"><enum>(A)</enum><text>facilitate the sharing of counterterrorism information, and</text> </subparagraph><subparagraph id="H2AA7BB1144CD4A84A637D427C93F5282"><enum>(B)</enum><text>combat the threat of terrorism and associated risks to the United States stemming from overseas sources of conflict or terrorism,</text>
 </subparagraph><continuation-text continuation-text-level="paragraph">as determined by the Secretary.</continuation-text></paragraph><paragraph id="H8B50D8438C8E4745808BC76E6A4BB236"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Personnel</header><text>In carrying out this subsection, the Secretary may assign personnel from any component of the Department the Secretary determines necessary to participate in the overseas counterterrorism task forces referred to in paragraph (1).</text></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
 </section><section id="HD34A264A16EE44108294D16A8D5C4E6E"><enum>3.</enum><header>Annual reports</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Not later than 18 months after the date of the enactment of this Act and annually thereafter for three years, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall report to the Committee on Homeland Security, the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and the Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, the Committee on Foreign Relations, Select Committee on Intelligence, and the Committee on Armed Services of the Senate on activities carried out pursuant to subsection (h) of section 102 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/6/112">6 U.S.C. 112</external-xref>), as added by section 2 of this Act.</text>
