			 and for other purposes.</official-title></form>

 <section id="HFFD60468D1E94E81841EB99BD346CEAF" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Counter Terrorist Network Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H28CE8083DE994838B23EEB395598BFF1"><enum>2.</enum><header>Duty to counter terrorist networks; details and assignment</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 411 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/6/211">6 U.S.C. 211</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
 <paragraph id="H5208EDA5576C40269C3A17F82E020623"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (g)(4)—</text> <subparagraph id="HAA70F32A00D3496DA50965ECA2A246F7"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subparagraph (C)—</text>
 <clause id="HE102AEF0BBD349AB82649D0FB2BDF6F4"><enum>(i)</enum><text>in clause (vi), by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text> </clause><clause id="HA8781D37417743EAA99849A4783C4278"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>by redesignating clause (vii) as clause (viii); and</text>
 </clause><clause id="H89E8218FDA02460BAE5B9CEE6DF0E4F4"><enum>(iii)</enum><text>by inserting after clause (vi) the following new clause:</text> <quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE572DFBE43A64B348BF49C05A1CDEEFB" style="OLC"> <clause id="H056B62033C694E9193F8D18618ECB104"><enum>(vii)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">collaborate with appropriate agencies, including Federal, State, local, tribal, and international entities, to enhance border security through operations such as operations that seek to disrupt and dismantle networks, including foreign terrorist organizations (as such term is described in section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1189">8 U.S.C. 1189</external-xref>)), that pose terrorist or other threats; and</text></clause><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
 </clause></subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H42059537DC564B5B9F755DA354D20D19"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by redesignating subsections (p) through (r) as subsections (q) through (s), respectively; and</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H304D4A1208BF4E879D119A08E14DC9F6"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by inserting after subsection (o) the following new subsection:</text>

 <subsection id="H7AC4DCE1AE4740D49790822AAF9FF13E"><enum>(p)</enum><header>Assignment of personnel</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Commissioner may detail or otherwise assign personnel of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to other appropriate agencies, including to serve overseas in support of global information sharing partnership operations in furtherance of enhancing border security, including by preventing entry into the United States by individuals known or suspected of being associated with a network, including a foreign terrorist organization (as such term is described in section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/8/1189">8 U.S.C. 1189</external-xref>)), that poses terrorist or other threats.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
 </paragraph></section><section id="H2E4CA22FD7AA47898742A58242073AA4"><enum>3.</enum><header>Briefings</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection shall biannually brief the Committee on Homeland Security of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate regarding activities, during the prior six months, in furtherance of clause (vii) of section 411(g)(4) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/6/211">6 U.S.C. 211(g)(4)</external-xref>), as added by section 2 of this Act. Such briefings may be provided in a classified setting if the Commissioner determines such is appropriate.</text>
