	<legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause">
		<section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idA89276840AA54F11A4F2C55EAB604A6A" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header display-inline="yes-display-inline">Increase in special pension for Medal of Honor recipients</header>
 <subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idB7E6B0BDADEA48A7B8C0A8FF58D5C9B9"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1562(a) of title 38, United States Code, is amended by striking <quote>$1,000</quote> and inserting <quote>$3,000</quote>.</text> </subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id78FA82C82E1D4110BCC1450AE2ABEE2B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header> <paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id8EDE7B48039A45D6BAE711D86A3A37AD"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the date that is—</text>
 <subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id2BD71808AB0D4664B3E96ABF230D014C"><enum>(A)</enum><text>except as provided in subparagraph (B), 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act; and</text> </subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idCC42100C254A46C383104D8DDE7F55DE"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in the case that the date that is 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act is not the first day of a month, the first day of the first month beginning after the date that is 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id5655F6034E1C405B8BA14603847A9881"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Delay of annual cost-of-living adjustment</header>
 <subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idEB0E6511A22D47908A444812F311335B"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary shall not make an increase pursuant to section 1562(e) of such title effective December 1, 2017, if the amendment made by subsection (a) takes effect before such date.</text>
 </subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id6D1F78A5B5194A5C9F2CDD56A9906B26"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Resumption</header><text>In the case that the Secretary, pursuant to subparagraph (A), does not make an increase pursuant to section 1562(e) of such title effective December 1, 2017, the Secretary shall resume making increases pursuant to such section with the first such increase effective December 1, 2018.</text></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body></bill>
