	<legis-body display-enacting-clause="yes-display-enacting-clause" id="H52C4DF616A254E09B7B2AD9338219481" style="OLC">
 <section id="H639AA3D86BAE48E9BB3C143197683D39" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Improve Data on Sexual Violence Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H1F8DD484265246F28713971C8E039333"><enum>2.</enum><header>Interagency working group to study Federal efforts to collect data on sexual violence</header> <subsection id="H3251C8DED25C4249B3414A03DFFF03DA"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Establishment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget shall establish an interagency working group (in this section referred to as the <quote>Working Group</quote>) to study Federal efforts to collect data on sexual violence and to make recommendations on the harmonization of such efforts.</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="HDC498E13E21E4496A7DE0C3A303DBB37"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Composition</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Working Group shall be comprised of at least one representative from the following agencies, who shall be selected by the head of that agency:</text>
 <paragraph id="HD34BF0E31224419F9ABEE3423C6B43BF"><enum>(1)</enum><text>The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H26B3CA392B34483087324130CB47EB10"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The Department of Defense.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="HA51229AF93EE42C5B3EAF2CAF3DF9886"><enum>(3)</enum><text>The Department of Education.</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="HBC846AE1096546E6ADD9265CEE501EF6"><enum>(4)</enum><text>The Department of Health and Human Services.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H0AF42BE44BCB4780ADC20DAC88182699"><enum>(5)</enum><text>The Department of Justice.</text> </paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H62BD265A9D394429B319FEB43CEF8181"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Duties</header><text>The Working Group shall consider the following:</text>
 <paragraph id="HE17DC66C307F4FF5BEB39C35AF87B4D0"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">What activity constitutes different acts of sexual violence.</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="HB3B3B337240D4B19961C7964BE0CDF9F"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Whether reports that use the same terms for acts of sexual violence are collecting the same data on these acts.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="HB9E8AE1E39BD4225912D6D03C2BA6813"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Whether the context which lead to an act of sexual violence should impact how that act is accounted for in reports.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H953CE3B11911495EA757524440DEA5E5"><enum>(4)</enum><text>Whether the data collected is presented in a way that allows the general public to understand what acts of sexual violence are included in each measurement.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H7B0D10ADC1EB46949314A5E39636BF04"><enum>(5)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Steps that agencies that compile reports relating to sexual violence can take to avoid double counting incidents of sexual violence.</text>
 </paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H94C884865A0D49DA9038661641DEE5F4"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Report required</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 2 years after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Working Group shall publish and submit to Congress a report on the following:</text>
 <paragraph id="H30DD2CD6583C40AE9C4ECC9F80128292"><enum>(1)</enum><text>The activities of the Working Group.</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="H52947D80D6454F6F8C2C1F2AE82E52C7"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Recommendations to harmonize Federal efforts to collect data on sexual violence.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="H6F3AD87C636E4367AD9D5D1AA6656694"><enum>(3)</enum><text>Actions Federal agencies can take to implement the recommendations described in paragraph (2).</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="HB50D03ADDDC048D39E51ED3C11FF1CFA"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Recommendations for congressional action to implement the recommendations described in paragraph (2).</text>
 </paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HD739574FA2B64027BF69CC43E11C88A6"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Termination</header><text>The Working Group shall terminate 30 days after the date on which the report is submitted pursuant to subsection (d).</text>
 </subsection><subsection id="HB8A82E8D4DB042DA919E67B0631D3953"><enum>(f)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In this Act:</text> <paragraph id="H8355782077884E249E743485394294F4"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Harmonize</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>harmonize</term> includes efforts to coordinate sexual violence data collection to produce complementary information, as appropriate, without compromising programmatic needs.</text>
 </paragraph><paragraph id="HD73F092D3B7045C38DD98C2DA6412055"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Sexual violence</header><text>The term <term>sexual violence</term> includes an unwanted sexual act (including both contact and non-contact) about which the Federal Government collects information.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body><endorsement><action-date>May 7, 2018</action-date><action-desc>Reported without amendment</action-desc></endorsement></bill>
