			 Affairs to newborn children.</official-title></form>
	<legis-body>
 <section id="id419513EEDA5441D79C16D2EE84D6E040" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Newborn Care Improvement Act of 2017</short-title></quote>.</text> </section><section id="H535B46440FFB4FC98BECF5F02E3DB44B"><enum>2.</enum><header>Improvement of health care services provided to newborn children by Department of Veterans Affairs</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1786 of title 38, United States Code, is amended—</text>
 <paragraph id="HCF0D704F3958430BA53F86623514377D"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection (a), in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking <quote>seven days</quote> and inserting <quote>14 days</quote>; and</text> </paragraph><paragraph id="HDEF2C3EDB443408B99C34C5B8E73FF5B"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>

 <subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H1BE4C4E062A546DBA56F75060C33A1C0"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Annual report</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Not later than 31 days after the end of each fiscal year, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs of the Senate and the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs of the House of Representatives a report on the health care services provided under subsection (a) during such fiscal year, including the number of newborn children who received such services during such fiscal year.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph></section></legis-body></bill>
