                         Tuesday, July 2, 2019

Mr. COLLINS of Georgia. Madam Speaker, I rise today to honor the
extraordinary life of Nicki Sanchez Meyer, who went to be with the Lord
on June 13, 2019.
Although Nicki had only called the City of Hartwell home for eight
years, she was a pillar in the Hart County community. As Director of
the Chamber of Commerce, Nicki spent five years working tirelessly to
promote the businesses and amenities that make Hart County so
attractive. Even after retiring from her position as director, Nicki
continued to serve her community by working as an economic development
specialist for the chamber.
Nicki's attitude of service impacted her community well beyond her
economic development work. She devoted her time to volunteering with
countless groups, including the Hartwell Service League, Hart Habitat,
Hartwell Downtown Development Authority, Northeast Georgia Council for
Domestic Violence, and Have a Hope Ministries, just to name a few.
What those around her recall the most was Nicki's love and passion
for her community and improving it for future generations. She leaves
behind a remarkable legacy of service, and her passing is felt deeply
by the people of Hartwell, in addition to her beloved family and
friends. On behalf of the Ninth District of Georgia, I want to thank
Nicki for showing us all how to live--in service towards others.
