                       Friday, November 22, 2019

Ms. STEVENS. Madam Speaker, I rise today to recognize Mayor Richard
Ziegler.
Mayor Ziegler has served the City of Wixom for more than twenty-two
years. Those decades of service include two years as Mayor, almost
twenty years as a member of the Wixom City Council, and eight years as
a Wixom police officer.
Mayor Ziegler's career is a quintessential model of civic engagement
and leadership. In his many years of service, he has been intimately
involved in the decision-making processes of his city; addressing
public concerns and safeguarding the values of the community. He and
his wife, Melody--who herself served the Wixom Police Department for
twenty-four years--have chosen to devote their careers to promoting the
quality of their community. We, in Michigan's 11th Congressional
District, are so very grateful for their work.
Madam Speaker, I ask my colleagues to join me in reflecting on the
remarkable career of Mayor Ziegler and his many contributions to his
community in Wixom, Michigan.
