                        MESSAGES FROM THE HOUSE

  At 10:02 a.m., a message from the House of Representatives, delivered 
by Mrs. Cole, one of its reading clerks, announced that the House has 
passed the following bills, in which it requests the concurrence of the 
Senate:

       H.R. 3598. An act to amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 
     to automatically discharge the loans of certain veteran 
     borrowers, and for other purposes.
       H.R. 6020. An act to require an evaluation by the 
     Government Accountability Office of the social, economic, and 
     historic contributions that Minor League Baseball has made to 
     American life and culture.

  At 5:30 p.m., a message from the House of Representatives, delivered 
by Mrs. Cole, one of its reading clerks, announced that the House has 
passed the following bill, in which it requests the concurrence of the 
Senate:

       H.R. 6172. An act to amend the Foreign Intelligence 
     Surveillance Act of 1978 to prohibit the production of 
     certain business records, and for other purposes.
