                         Friday, April 10, 2020

Mrs. LESKO. Madam Speaker, I rise today with great sadness over the
passing of Commander Gregory Carnicle from Peoria, Arizona.
He was beloved by many. He was a loving husband to Ann, father to
Rachel, Cecilia, John and Veronica and grandfather to four with two
more on the way.
He began his career as a patrol officer in June 1989 and was a 31-
year veteran with the Phoenix Police Department. He is the first
Phoenix Police Commander to lose his life in the line of duty. He was a
well-respected leader and hero to many. We are eternally grateful for
his service to our community and state.
On this day, we as a community honor him and ask those who knew him
to pray for his family during this time of mourning.
