Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. This Act may be cited as the ``Emmett Till Antilynching Act''. SEC. 2. LYNCHING; OTHER CONSPIRACIES. Section 249(a) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following: ``(5) Lynching; other conspiracies.--Whoever conspires to commit any offense under paragraph (1), (2), or (3), shall-- ``(A) if death results from the offense, be imprisoned for any term of years or for life, fined in accordance with this title, or both; or ``(B) in any other case, be subject to the same penalties as the penalties prescribed for the offense the commission of which was the object of the conspiracy.''.
