                                 A BILL


 
     To amend the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency 
 Assistance Act and any corresponding regulation to extend the period 
         for Federal assistance to individuals and households.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``FEMA Relief Extension Act''.

SEC. 2. PERIOD OF ASSISTANCE EXTENSION.

    (a) Stafford Act.--Clauses (iii) and (iv) of section 408(c)(1)(B) 
of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act 
are amended by striking ``18-month period'' and inserting ``24-month 
period''.
    (b) Regulation.--The Administrator of the Federal Emergency 
Management Agency shall amend section 206.110(e) of title 44, Code of 
Federal Regulations, to comply with the amendment made by subsection 
(a).
