A BILL
To direct the Inspector General of the Department of Housing and Urban
Development to submit to the Congress a report on the New York City
Housing Authority, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``NYCHA Accountability Act of 2022''.
SEC. 2. REPORT TO THE CONGRESS ON NEW YORK CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY.
Not later than 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act,
the Inspector General of the Department of Housing and Urban
Development shall submit to the Congress a report that contains--
(1) an analysis of health and safety conditions with
respect to dwelling units owned or administered by the New York
City Housing Authority;
(2) an analysis of the New York City Housing Authority's
compliance with Federal, State, and local housing regulations;
(3) an audit of the Federal funds received by the New York
City Housing Authority during fiscal years 2014 through 2022;
and
(4) additional findings and recommendations of the
Inspector General of the Department of Housing and Urban
Development.
