                                 A BILL


 
    To require the Securities and Exchange Commission to update the 
  Commissions' guidance on economic analysis in rulemakings, and for 
                            other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``SEC Economic Analysis Modernization 
Act''.

SEC. 2. GUIDANCE ON ECONOMIC ANALYSIS FOR SEC RULEMAKINGS.

    (a) In General.--Not later than 2 years after the date of enactment 
of this Act, and every 5 years thereafter, the Securities and Exchange 
Commission shall update the Commission's guidance on economic analysis 
in rulemakings.
    (b) Availability of Update.--Upon the completion of each update 
required under subsection (a), the Commission shall make such update 
available to the public, including on the website of the Commission, 
along with a summary and justification of any changes made by the 
update.
