    Mrs. Murphy of Florida introduced the following bill; which was

                                 A BILL


 
    To modify the requirements of the annual report on military and 
security developments involving the People's Republic of China, and for 
                            other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Assessing Chinese Special Operations 
Forces Act of 2022''.

SEC. 2. MODIFICATION TO ANNUAL REPORT ON MILITARY AND SECURITY 
              DEVELOPMENTS INVOLVING THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA.

    Section 1202(b) of the National Defense Authorization Act for 
Fiscal Year 2000 (10 U.S.C. 113 note) is amended as follows:
            (1) In paragraph (5)--
                    (A) in subparagraph (B)--
                            (i) by striking ``A summary'' and inserting 
                        ``a summary''; and
                            (ii) by striking ``; and'' at the end and 
                        inserting a semicolon;
                    (B) in subparagraph (C), by striking the period at 
                the end and inserting ``; and''; and
                    (C) by adding at the end the following new 
                subparagraph:
                    ``(D) the doctrine, capabilities, organization, and 
                operational employment of the People's Liberation Army 
                special operations forces.''.
            (2) In paragraph (8), by adding at the end the following 
        new subparagraph:
                    ``(F) The special operations capabilities.''.
