  To amend title 38, United States Code, to improve the treatment of 
 anesthesiologist assistants in the Veterans Health Administration of 
                  the Department of Veterans Affairs.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. ANESTHESIOLOGIST ASSISTANTS IN VETERANS HEALTH 
              ADMINISTRATION.

    (a) Appointments of Anesthesiologist Assistants.--Section 7401(1) 
of title 38, United States Code, is amended by inserting 
``anesthesiologist assistants,'' after ``physician assistants,''.
    (b) Additional Pay for Anesthesiologist Assistants.--Section 
7454(a) of title 38, United States Code, is amended by inserting ``, 
anesthesiologist assistants,'' after ``Physician assistants''.
