                                 A BILL


 
  To redesignate the ``Salem Maritime National Historic Site'' as the 
   ``Salem Maritime National Historical Park'', and for the purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Salem Maritime National Historical 
Park Redesignation and Technical Corrections Act''.

SEC. 2. SALEM MARITIME NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK.

    (a) In General.--The Salem Maritime National Historic Site is 
redesignated as the ``Salem Maritime National Historical Park''.
    (b) References in Law.--Any reference to the Salem Maritime 
National Historic Site in any law, regulation, map, document, record, 
or other paper of the United States shall be deemed to be a reference 
to the Salem Maritime National Historical Park.
    (c) Boundary Revision.--Section 1 of the Act entitled ``An Act to 
revise the boundaries of Salem Maritime National Historic Site in the 
Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and for other purposes'' (Public Law 
100-349; 102 Stat. 659) is amended--
            (1) in the heading, by striking ``national historic site'' 
        and inserting ``national historical park'';
            (2) by amending subsection (a) to read as follows:
    ``(a) Boundary Revision.--The Salem Maritime National Historical 
Park (designated as the Salem Maritime National Historic Site on March 
17, 1938 (3 Fed. Reg. 787), and redesignated as the Salem National 
Historical Park by the Salem Maritime National Historical Park 
Redesignation and Technical Corrections Act) located in Salem, 
Massachusetts, shall consist of lands and interests in lands as 
generally depicted on the map entitled `__', numbered __, and dated __. 
The map shall be on file and available for public inspection in the 
offices of the National Park Service, Department of the Interior.'';
            (3) in subsection (b), by striking ``national historic 
        site'' in each place it appears and inserting ``national 
        historical park'';
            (4) in subsection (b)(2)(A), by striking ``visitor center'' 
        in each place it appears and inserting ``visitor center and 
        curatorial facility''; and
            (5) in subsection (b)(2)(B)(ii), by striking ``12,000'' and 
        inserting ``70,000''.
    (d) Special Resource Study.--Not later than January 1, 2026, the 
Secretary of the Interior shall conduct a special resource study of 
sites and resources associated with the maritime history and coastal 
defenses of Salem, Massachusetts, and its vicinity, for the purpose of 
evaluating potential revisions to the boundaries of the Salem Maritime 
National Historical Park to include such sites and resources.
