A BILL
To increase the authorization of appropriations for grants to States to
defray the expenses of the States related to the establishment and
operation of a State underground injection control program for
permitting Class VI wells for the injection of carbon dioxide.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``State Efforts to Create Underground
Regulatory Efficiency Act'' or the ``SECURE Act''.
SEC. 2. AUTHORIZATION FOR STATE PERMITTING PROGRAM GRANTS.
Section 40306(c)(3) of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act
(42 U.S.C. 300h-9(c)(3)) is amended by striking ``$50,000,000 for the
period of fiscal years 2022 through 2026'' and inserting
``$100,000,000, which shall be authorized to remain available until
expended''.
