A BILL
To amend the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to remove the
requirements relating to registered apprenticeships.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Apprenticeship Freedom Act''.
SEC. 2. WIOA AMENDMENTS.
(a) Career Pathway.--Section 3(7)(B) of the Workforce Innovation
and Opportunity Act (29 U.S.C. 3102(7)(B)) is amended by striking
``registered'' and all that follows, and inserting a semicolon.
(b) Identification of Eligible Providers.--Section 122(a) of the
Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (29 U.S.C. 3152(a)) is
amended--
(1) by amending paragraph (2)(B) to read as follows:
``(B) an entity that carries out apprenticeships;
or''; and
(2) in paragraph (3), by striking ``for so long as the
corresponding program of the provider remains registered''.
(c) Youthbuild Program.--Section 171 of the Workforce Innovation
and Opportunity Act (29 U.S.C. 3226) is amended--
(1) in subsection (b)--
(A) by striking paragraph (10); and
(B) by redesignating paragraphs (11) and (12) as
paragraphs (10) and (11), respectively; and
(2) by striking ``registered'' each place it appears.
