                                 A BILL


 
 To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to expand the definition 
      of ``engage in terrorist activity'', and for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Protect Against Terrorist Threats 
(PATT) Act of 2022''.

SEC. 2. EXPANSION OF DEFINITION OF ``ENGAGE IN TERRORIST ACTIVITY''.

    Section 212(a)(3)(B)(iv) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 
U.S.C. 1182(a)(3)(B)(iv)) is amended--
            (1) in subclause (V)(cc), by striking ``or'' at the end;
            (2) in subclause (VI)(dd), by striking the period at the 
        end and inserting ``; or''; and
            (3) by adding at the end the following:
                                    ``(VII) to threaten, attempt, or 
                                conspire to take any action described 
                                in subclauses (III) through (VI).''.
