Congratulating Gregg Popovich, Head Coach of the San Antonio Spurs, on 
   becoming the winningest head coach in the history of the National 
                        Basketball Association.

         was referred to the Committee on Oversight and Reform

                               RESOLUTION


 
Congratulating Gregg Popovich, Head Coach of the San Antonio Spurs, on 
   becoming the winningest head coach in the history of the National 
                        Basketball Association.

Whereas, on March 11, 2022, Gregg Popovich earned his record setting 1,336th win 
        as a head coach when the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Utah Jazz, 104 
        to 102;
Whereas Coach Gregg Popovich has led the San Antonio Spurs as Head Coach for 26 
        seasons;
Whereas, over 26 seasons, Coach Popovich has led the San Antonio Spurs to five 
        National Basketball Association championships in 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, 
        and 2014;
Whereas, over 26 seasons, Coach Popovich has led the San Antonio Spurs to six 
        Western Conference Championships in 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2013, and 
        2014;
Whereas, over 26 seasons, Coach Popovich has been named the National Basketball 
        Association's Coach of the Year three times, in 2003, 2012, and 2014;
Whereas, over 26 seasons, Coach Popovich has been named the National Basketball 
        Association's All-Star Game Head Coach four times in 2005, 2011, 2013, 
        and 2016;
Whereas Coach Popovich led the United States Men's Olympic Basketball Team as 
        Head Coach to a gold medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics; and
Whereas Coach Gregg Popovich stated, ``All of us share in this record. It's not 
        mine. It's ours, here in the city.'': Now, therefore, be it
    Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
            (1) commends Gregg Popovich for his record-setting 1,336th 
        win as a head coach of the National Basketball Association;
            (2) recognizes the achievement and dedication of Gregg 
        Popovich and the entire San Antonio Spurs organization, 
        including, players, coaches, and support staff, who have 
        contributed to 1,336 wins over the past 26 seasons;
            (3) congratulates the citizens of San Antonio, the San 
        Antonio Spurs organization, and Spurs fans everywhere; and
            (4) requests that the Clerk of the House of Representatives 
        transmit an enrolled copy of this resolution to--
                    (A) Gregg Popovich, Head Coach of the San Antonio 
                Spurs;
                    (B) Peter J. Holt, owner of the San Antonio Spurs; 
                and
                    (C) Julianna Hawn Holt, Chief Executive Officer of 
                the San Antonio Spurs.
