 Duncan, Mr. Roy, Mr. Mast, Mrs. Harshbarger, Mr. Van Drew, Mr. Rodney 
 Davis of Illinois, Mr. Budd, Mr. Gooden of Texas, Mr. Weber of Texas, 
and Mr. LaMalfa) submitted the following resolution; which was referred 
                to the Committee on Education and Labor

                               RESOLUTION


 
Recognizing and honoring Emma Weyant as the rightful winner of the 2022 
              NCAA Division I Women's 500-Yard Freestyle.

Whereas Emma Weyant of Sarasota, Florida, is a world-class student-athlete and 
        honorably represented the United States in the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympic 
        Games, winning the Silver Medal in the women's 400-meter individual 
        medley;
Whereas Emma Weyant's relay team finished second in the 800-yard freestyle relay 
        and her consistently strong performance contributed to the University of 
        Virginia's Women's Swimming and Diving program winning the 2022 NCAA 
        Division I Championship;
Whereas Emma Weyant is a role model for girls across the country, described by 
        her coach as ``driven, goal-oriented and very thorough, hard-working, 
        processed, focused and resilient'';
Whereas Emma Weyant was named a four-time high school All-American, a four-time 
        Scholar-Athlete, and a Scholastic All-American;
Whereas Emma Weyant logged the fastest time by a woman at the 2022 NCAA Division 
        I Women's Swimming and Diving Championship in the Women's 500-Yard 
        Freestyle; and
Whereas Emma Weyant's first-place medal was stolen from her by a man competing 
        in women's swimming: Now, therefore, be it
    Resolved, That the House of Representatives recognizes and honors 
Emma Weyant as the rightful winner of the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's 
500-Yard Freestyle.
