      Congratulating the Golden State Warriors for their historic 
   championship victory in the 2022 National Basketball Association 
                                Finals.

                    IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

                             June 23, 2022

   Mr. Swalwell (for himself, Ms. Pelosi, Ms. Lee of California, Mr. 
   Khanna, Mr. DeSaulnier, Mr. Costa, and Ms. Lofgren) submitted the 
following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Oversight 
                               and Reform

                               RESOLUTION


 
      Congratulating the Golden State Warriors for their historic 
   championship victory in the 2022 National Basketball Association 
                                Finals.

Whereas, on June 16, 2022, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics 
        by a score of 103-90 in an extraordinary game 6 at TD Garden in Boston, 
        Massachusetts, to win the 2022 National Basketball Association (referred 
        to in this preamble as the ``NBA'') Finals;
Whereas the Golden State Warriors captured their fourth championship in 8 years, 
        and their seventh championship in franchise history;
Whereas the Warriors went on a first-half scoring run of 21 unanswered points, 
        the longest in the NBA Finals in the past 50 years;
Whereas the Warriors have won at least 1 game on the road in the last 27 playoff 
        series, the longest such streak in NBA history;
Whereas Wardell Stephen Curry, Jr., won his first NBA Finals Most Valuable 
        Player award for impeccable leadership on the court, averaging 31.2 
        points per game;
Whereas Klay Thompson battled back from 2 potentially career-ending injuries 
        stemming from the 2019 NBA Finals to win his fourth NBA Finals 
        Championship;
Whereas Draymond Green remains one of the best defensive players in the NBA;
Whereas Andrew Wiggins won his first ever NBA Championship title after a 
        critical game 5 performance that carried the Warriors to their third 
        victory in the series;
Whereas every other member of the 2021-2022 Golden State Warriors team 
        contributed to this championship, including--

    (1) Nemanja Bjelica;

    (2) Chris Chiozza;

    (3) Andre Iguodala;

    (4) Jonathan Kuminga;

    (5) Damion Lee;

    (6) Kevon Looney;

    (7) Moses Moody;

    (8) Gary Payton II;

    (9) Jordan Poole;

    (10) Otto Porter, Jr.;

    (11) Juan Toscano-Anderson;

    (12) Quinndary Weatherspoon; and

    (13) James Wiseman;

Whereas Head Coach Steve Kerr won his ninth NBA Championship title as a player 
        and a coach, making him the only person in NBA history to have at least 
        3 rings as a player and a coach;
Whereas Joe Lacob, Peter Guber, and Bob Myers have built one of the most 
        exciting and high-performing franchises in NBA history;
Whereas the dedicated fan base of the Golden State Warriors has offered 
        unrelenting, passionate support to the team; and
Whereas, both on and off the court, the Golden State Warriors are an immense 
        source of pride for the Bay Area and the entire Golden State Warriors 
        fan base: Now, therefore, be it
    Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
            (1) congratulates the Golden State Warriors for winning the 
        2022 National Basketball Association Finals;
            (2) recognizes the historic achievements of all the 
        players, coaches, and staff who contributed to the 2021-2022 
        season; and
            (3) celebrates the selfless teamwork and extraordinary 
        character, pride, determination, and hard work of the Golden 
        State Warriors.
