Ms. Herrell (for herself, Mr. Baird, Mr. Case, Mr. Costa, Mr. Bishop of
Georgia, and Mrs. Rodgers of Washington) submitted the following
resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services

RESOLUTION
Recognizing military spouses of the United States of America.
Whereas military spouses serve faithfully alongside members of our Armed Forces,
are strong, proud, and faithful to their country, and are valued members
of their community;
Whereas military spouses make sacrifices and take on hardships of their own;
Whereas military spouses often place careers on hold to help support a family;
Whereas military spouses are often tasked with parenting alone when a
significant other is deployed;
Whereas military spouses take care of children, shopping, and maintaining a
household;
Whereas military spouses are subject to frequent relocation as duty calls,
pulling them away from friends and family;
Whereas military spouses take it upon themselves to support other military
spouses in times of need and otherwise;
Whereas military spouses face the reality that their husband or wife may not
come home; and
Whereas military spouses continually hold their head high in times of
uncertainty and challenging circumstances: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That it is the sense of the House of Representatives that
military spouses are recognized for their sacrifices they make on a
daily basis and acknowledged for their strength and perseverance
through difficult and challenging times.
