A BILL
Making appropriations to provide emergency assistance for the Community
Development Fund for disaster response and recovery for the fiscal year
ending September 30, 2022.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
The following sums are appropriated, out of any money in the
Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the fiscal year ending
September 30, 2022, and for other purposes, namely:
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
Community Planning and Development
community development fund
For an additional amount for ``Community Development Fund'',
$2,000,000,000, to remain available until expended, which shall be
allocated and used under the same authority and conditions as the
additional appropriations for fiscal year 2022 for ``Department of
Housing and Urban Development--Community Planning and Development--
Community Development Fund'' in title VIII of division B of the
Extending Government Funding and Delivering Emergency Assistance Act
(Public Law 117-43): Provided, That up to $5,000,000 of the amounts
provided under this heading in this Act may be used for capacity
building, technical assistance, and necessary costs of administering
funds under the heading ``Community Development Fund'' in this Act or
any prior or future Act that makes amounts available for purposes
related to major disasters under such heading: Provided further, That,
after funds are allocated to the most impacted and distressed areas
resulting from major disasters in 2020 and 2021, remaining amounts may
be used for 2022 disasters under such same authority and conditions:
Provided further, That such amount is designated by the Congress as
being for an emergency requirement pursuant to section 4001(a)(1) and
section 4001(b) of S. Con. Res. 14 (117th Congress), the concurrent
resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2022.
