A BILL
To dissolve the Department of Homeland Security Disinformation
Governance Board, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Dissolving the Disinformation
Governance Board Act''.
SEC. 2. SENSE OF CONGRESS.
It is the sense of Congress that the Department of Homeland
Security Disinformation Governance Board is unconstitutional and should
be dissolved immediately.
SEC. 3. DEFINITIONS.
In this Act:
(1) Board.--The term ``Board'' means the Disinformation
Governance Board.
(2) Secretary.--The term ``Secretary'' means the Secretary
of Homeland Security.
SEC. 4. DISSOLUTION.
(a) In General.--The Board is hereby dissolved.
(b) Removal of Executive Director.--The Secretary shall immediately
remove the Executive Director from the Board.
(c) Funding Restriction.--Beginning on the date of the enactment of
this Act, no Federal funds may be used for the operation of the Board.
SEC. 5. NO SUCCESSOR ENTITIES OR ACTIVITIES.
The Secretary may not--
(1) establish any entity equivalent to the Board; or
(2) authorize activities at the Department of Homeland
Security that are substantially similar to the activities of
the Board.
SEC. 6. DISCLOSURE.
Not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act,
the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Homeland Security and
Governmental Affairs of the Senate and the Committee on Homeland
Security of the House of Representatives--
(1) a report describing the formation of the Board; and
(2) all of the records in the possession of the Department
of Homeland Security related to the Board, including--
(A) written or recorded communications concerning
the formation of the Board;
(B) the agenda or minutes from any meeting at which
the Board's formation was discussed;
(C) any legal review to determine whether the
activities of the Board would be authorized by the
Constitution of the United States;
(D) any communications or records about the
individuals who would be recruited to serve on the
Board; and
(E) any communications concerning the appointment
of an executive director for the Board.
