   Alabama) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the 
                       Committee on the Judiciary

                                 A BILL


 
    To require all aliens applying for a nonimmigrant visa who are 
   unlawfully present in the United States to submit to an in person 
                   interview with a consular officer.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Visa Integrity Preservation Act of 
2024''.

SEC. 2. IN PERSON INTERVIEW WITH CONSULAR OFFICER REQUIREMENT FOR 
              ALIENS WHO ARE UNLAWFULLY PRESENT IN THE UNITED STATES.

    Section 222(h)(2) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 
1202(h)(2)) is amended--
            (1) in subparagraph (E)(iv), by striking ``or'' at the end;
            (2) in subparagraph (F)(iii), by striking the period at the 
        end and inserting ``; or''; and
            (3) by adding at the end the following:
                    ``(G) is inadmissible under paragraph (6) or (9) of 
                section 212(a).''.
