 To exempt diesel-fueled emergency vehicles from certain air pollution 
                 requirements, and for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Emergency Vehicles Responsiveness 
Act of 2024''.

SEC. 2. EXEMPTING DIESEL-FUELED EMERGENCY VEHICLES FROM CERTAIN AIR 
              POLLUTION REQUIREMENTS.

    Section 203 of the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. 7522) is amended by 
adding at the end the following:
    ``(c) Exemption for Diesel-Fueled Emergency Vehicles.--
            ``(1) Exemption.--Any diesel-fueled emergency vehicle or 
        diesel-fueled emergency vehicle engine is deemed to be exempt 
        from subsection (a)(1).
            ``(2) Definition.--In this subsection, the term `emergency 
        vehicle' means a vehicle designed to be used under emergency 
        conditions--
                    ``(A) to transport personnel and equipment; and
                    ``(B) to support the suppression of fires and 
                mitigation of other hazardous situations.''.
