Mr. Higgins of Louisiana (for himself, Mr. Duncan, Mrs. Boebert, Mr.
Weber of Texas, Mr. Good of Virginia, Mr. Fulcher, Mr. Rosendale, and
Ms. Mace) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the
Committee on Ways and Means, and in addition to the Committees on
Education and the Workforce, Energy and Commerce, Transportation and
Infrastructure, and Agriculture, for a period to be subsequently
determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such
provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

A BILL
To prohibit the use of Federal funds to hire armed Federal regulatory
enforcement officers in certain agencies.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``No Funds for Armed Regulators Act of
2023''.
SEC. 2. PROHIBITION ON ARMED FEDERAL REGULATORY ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS.
(a) In General.--No Federal funds may be used to hire or retain
armed Federal regulatory enforcement officers in the Internal Revenue
Service, the Department of Labor, or the Environmental Protection
Agency.
(b) Federal Regulatory Officers Described.--In this section, the
term ``Federal regulatory enforcement officer'' refers to any
individual hired by a Federal agency to enforce laws, rules, or
regulations for that agency through any tactical means, including use
of force or weapons.
