  To mandate certain hours for in-person branch offices of depository 
                 institutions, and for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Original Open for Business Act of 
2023''.

SEC. 2. DEPOSITORY INSTITUTION HOURS.

    (a) In General.--Beginning on the date that is 180 days after the 
date of the enactment of this section, each branch location of a 
depository institution with in-person customer service shall remain 
open for business (except on a Federal holiday)--
            (1) until 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 
        or Friday; and
            (2) for a minimum of 4 hours on Saturday.
    (b) Depository Institution Defined.--In this section, the term 
``depository institution'' shall have the meaning given the term in 
section 3 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
