   following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and

                                 A BILL


 
To require the Secretary of Energy to withdraw a proposed rule relating 
      to energy conservation standards for consumer water heaters.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Hot Showers Act''.

SEC. 2. WITHDRAWAL OF PROPOSED RULE.

    The Secretary of Energy--
            (1) shall withdraw the proposed rule titled ``Energy 
        Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for 
        Consumer Water Heaters'' (88 Fed. Reg. 49058 (July 28, 2023)); 
        and
            (2) may not take any action to finalize, implement, or 
        enforce the proposed rule described in paragraph (1) or any 
        substantially similar rule.
