To amend title 18, United States Code, to permit payments to be made to 
  the law firms of court-appointed attorneys, and for other purposes.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. ADEQUATE REPRESENTATION OF DEFENDANTS.

    Section 3006A(d)(1) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by 
inserting after ``this section'' the following: ``, or a law firm 
designated by the attorney so appointed,''.
                                 <all>
