    To prohibit the Secretary of State from requiring United States 
citizens who are evacuated by the Department of State or for which the 
   Department of State provides government assisted departure from a 
   crisis situation abroad to pay for the costs associated with such 
                        evacuation or departure.

  the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign 
                                Affairs

                                 A BILL


 
    To prohibit the Secretary of State from requiring United States 
citizens who are evacuated by the Department of State or for which the 
   Department of State provides government assisted departure from a 
   crisis situation abroad to pay for the costs associated with such 
                        evacuation or departure.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Bring Americans Home Act''.

SEC. 2. PROHIBITION.

    Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary of State 
may not require any United States citizen who is evacuated by the 
Department of State or for which the Department of State provides 
government assisted departure from a crisis situation abroad to pay for 
the costs associated with such evacuation or departure.
