bill; which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means, and in
addition to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, for a period to be
subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration
of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee
concerned

A BILL
To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to extend the Medicare
independence at home medical practice demonstration program.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. EXTENDING THE MEDICARE INDEPENDENCE AT HOME DEMONSTRATION
PROGRAM.
(a) In General.--Section 1866E(e) of the Social Security Act (42
U.S.C. 1395cc-5(e)) is amended--
(1) in paragraph (1), by striking ``10-year'' and inserting
``12-year''; and
(2) by striking ``tenth'' each place such term appears and
inserting ``twelfth'' in each such place.
(b) Report.--Not later than 1 year after the date of the enactment
of this Act, the Secretary of Health and Human Services shall submit to
Congress a report on the Independence at Home Medical Practice
Demonstration Program established under section 1866E of the Social
Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395cc-5). Such report shall contain an
evaluation of--
(1) the effectiveness of such Program with respect to
health outcomes; and
(2) any barriers to participation in such Program.
