bill; which was referred to the Committee on Financial Services, and in
addition to the Committees on Energy and Commerce, and Foreign Affairs,
for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case
for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of
the committee concerned

A BILL
To amend the Defense Production Act of 1950 to allow an Indian Tribe to
request CFIUS review of certain transactions between the Indian Tribe
and foreign persons, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. REQUESTS BY INDIAN TRIBES FOR CFIUS REVIEW.
Section 721(a)(4) of the Defense Production Act of 1950 (50 U.S.C.
4565(a)(4)) is amended by adding at the end the following:
``(G) Requests by indian tribes for review of
transactions.--Upon the written request of an Indian
Tribe (as defined in section 4(e) of the Indian Self-
Determination and Education Assistance Act, (25 U.S.C.
5304(e))) with respect to a transaction between such
Indian Tribe and a foreign person (other than an Indian
Tribe), this section shall apply--
``(i) to such transaction in the same
manner as this section applies to a covered
transaction; and
``(ii) to the business or real estate that
is the subject of such transaction in the same
manner as this section applies to a United
States business or real estate located in the
United States.''.
