A BILL
To direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to revise a certain
directive of the Veterans Health Administration of the Department of
Veterans Affairs.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Healthcare Freedom for VHA Volunteer
Drivers Act of 2024''.
SEC. 2. REVISION TO CERTAIN DIRECTIVE OF VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION
OF DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS REQUIRED.
(a) In General.--The Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall revise VHA
Directive 1193.01(1) titled ``Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination
Program for Veterans Health Administration Health Care Personnel'' and
published on January 27, 2022 (as amended on December 1, 2022) to
ensure that a covered individual may, subject to such conditions as the
Secretary determines appropriate, volunteer to transport a veteran to a
medical facility of the Department of Veterans Affairs for the purposes
of receiving health care.
(b) Covered Individual Defined.--In this section, the term
``covered individual'' means an individual who has not received a
vaccination against COVID-19.
