 introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on

  To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to modify the time at 
 which age is assessed for the purpose of determining whether an alien 
                       is an immediate relative.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Child Status Fairness and 
Modernization Act''.

SEC. 2. AGE REQUIREMENT.

    Section 201(f)(2) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 
1151(f)(2)) is amended--
            (1) by amending the heading to read as follows: ``Age 
        requirement in case of parent naturalization.--''; and
            (2) by striking ``age of the alien on the date of the 
        parent's naturalization'' and inserting ``the date on which the 
        petition was initially filed''.
