     To amend the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency 
  Assistance Act to include wildfire smoke in the definition of major 
                               disaster.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as ``Keeping Families Safe from Wildfire 
Smoke Act''.

SEC. 2. WILDFIRE SMOKE.

    Section 102(2) of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and 
Emergency Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 5122 (2)) is amended by inserting 
``wildfire smoke,'' after ``snowstorm,''.
