A BILL
To direct the Secretary of the Army to provide a briefing to Congress
on the future role and structure of Multi-Domain Task Forces, and for
other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. BRIEFING ON THE FUTURE ROLE AND STRUCTURE OF MULTI-DOMAIN
TASK FORCES.
(a) In General.--Not later than December 31, 2024, the Secretary of
the Army shall provide to the Committees on Armed Services of the
Senate and the House of Representatives a briefing on the plans of the
Army with respect to the future role and structure of Multi-Domain Task
Forces.
(b) Elements.--The briefing under subsection (a) shall address--
(1) the benefits of any experimentation conducted with
respect to Multi-Domain Task Forces, including any resulting
lessons learned that have the potential to be adopted within
other organizations of the Army;
(2) operational concepts for using Multi-Domain Task Forces
in wartime or other crisis scenarios;
(3) any plans or requirements relating to the use of joint
storage facilities for the sustainment of Multi-Domain Task
Forces;
(4) an outline of any plans or operational concepts
providing for the use the reserve components (including the
National Guard) to support Multi-Domain Task Force operations;
and
(5) with respect to each Multi-Domain Task Force that is
not operational as of the date of the briefing--
(A) a timeline for operationalizing the Task Force;
and
(B) an assessment of any impediments that may
prevent the Task Force from achieving full operational
capability before 2027.
