A BILL
To direct the heads of certain agencies to review and submit to
Congress a report on public-private partnerships for combating the
illicit fentanyl trade, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. REVIEW AND REPORT ON PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS TO COMBAT
ILLICIT FENTANYL.
(a) Review.--The heads of the agencies described in subsection (b)
(and in the case of the intelligence community, the Director of
National Intelligence) shall review, respectively, the public-private
partnerships of each such agency for combating the illicit fentanyl
trade.
(b) Agencies Described.--The agencies described in this subsection
are the following:
(1) The Department of State.
(2) The Department of the Treasury.
(3) The Department of Defense.
(4) The Department of Justice.
(5) The Department of Commerce.
(6) The Department of Health and Human Services.
(7) The Department of Transportation.
(8) The Department of Energy.
(9) The Department of Homeland Security.
(10) The intelligence community (as defined in section 3(4)
of the National Security Act of 1947 (50 U.S.C. 3003(4))).
(11) The United States Postal Service.
(c) Reporting.--
(1) Initial report.--Not later than 30 days after the date
of enactment of this Act, the heads of the agencies described
in subsection (b) shall submit to Congress a report describing
the results of the review under subsection (a), including--
(A) an assessment of the public-private
partnerships and their effectiveness; and
(B) a description of any key gaps.
(2) Updates.--Every 6 months following the date of the
submission of the report under subsection (c), the heads of the
agencies described in subsection (b) shall submit to Congress
an update to such report.
(3) Form.--The reports and updates under this subsection
shall be submitted in unclassified form but may include a
classified annex.
