 while shielding his family during the attempted assassination of the 
   former President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump.

   Mr. Moskowitz (for himself and Mr. Gaetz) submitted the following 
   resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Oversight and 
                             Accountability

                               RESOLUTION


 
Honoring former fire department chief Corey Comperatore who was killed 
 while shielding his family during the attempted assassination of the 
   former President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump.

Whereas, Corey Comperatore was killed by the shooter at the rally for former 
        President Donald Trump in Butler Pennsylvania on Saturday July 13th, 
        2024;
Whereas, Corey Comperatore was a former chief firefighter of the Buffalo 
        Township Volunteer Fire Company from Sarver, Pennsylvania;
Whereas, Corey Comperatore was married with two daughters;
Whereas, Corey Comperatore was killed while shielding his family from the 
        gunfire that was aimed at assassinating former President Donald Trump; 
        and
Whereas, Corey Comperatore died a hero to his family and hero to his country for 
        his service.
    Resolved,  That the House of Representatives--
            (1) recognizes the life of Corey Comperatore and his 
        service to the country;
            (2) recognizes that Corey Comperatore gave his life for his 
        wife and two daughters;
            (3) calls on United States Government officials and 
        politicians to--
                    (A) condemn the attempted assassination of former 
                President Donald J. Trump; and
            (4) condemns political violence in all its forms.
