                               RESOLUTION

    Commemorating the past success of the United States Olympic and
     Paralympic Teams and supporting the United States Olympic and
   Paralympic Teams in the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games.

Whereas, since 1894, the Olympic Movement has worked to build a better and more
        peaceful world by educating young people through amateur athletics,
        bringing together athletes from many countries in friendly competition,
        and forging new relationships bound by friendship, solidarity, and fair
        play;
Whereas the United States Olympic and Paralympic Teams have won 2,037 gold
        medals, 1,736 silver medals, and 1,615 bronze medals, totaling 5,388
        medals, during the past Summer and Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games;
Whereas the 2024 Olympic Games will take place in Paris, France, from July 26,
        2024, to August 11, 2024, and the 2024 Paralympic Games will take place
        in Paris, France, from August 28, 2024, to September 8, 2024;
Whereas, at the 2024 Olympic Games, 206 countries will compete in 329 events in
        32 sports, and at the 2024 Paralympic Games, more than 184 countries
        will compete in 549 events in 22 sports;
Whereas, at the 2024 Olympic Games, Team USA will compete in 44 sports
        disciplines and 253 contested events;
Whereas the United States plans to send 592 athletes to participate in the 2024
        Olympic Games, including 314 women;
Whereas the United States has already qualified 138 athletes to participate in
        the 2024 Paralympic Games, with many more expected to qualify;
Whereas the people of the United States stand united in respect and admiration
        of the members of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Teams and the
        athletic accomplishments, sportsmanship, and dedication to excellence;
Whereas the many accomplishments of the United States Olympic and Paralympic
        Teams would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication
        of many others, including individuals on the United States Olympic and
        Paralympic Committee and the national governing bodies of sport and the
        many administrators, coaches, and family members who provided critical
        support to the athletes;
Whereas the United States Government is grateful to France for hosting the 2024
        Olympic and Paralympic Games;
Whereas France successfully hosted the 1900 and 1924 Paris Summer Games, the
        1924 Chamonix Olympic Winter Games, the 1968 Grenoble Olympic Winter
        Games, and the 1992 Albertville Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games;
Whereas upon conclusion of the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games,
        the United States will assume the role of host country of the next
        Summer Games, and stands ready to support the athletes and organizers of
        the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games;
Whereas the people of the United States take great pride in the qualities of
        commitment to excellence, grace under pressure, and goodwill toward
        competitors exhibited by the athletes of the United States Olympic and
        Paralympic Teams; and
Whereas the Olympic Movement celebrates competition, fair play, and the pursuit
        of glory, elevating the eternal qualities of the human spirit to the
        world stage: Now, therefore, be it
    Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
            (1) supports proceeding with the 2024 Olympic and
        Paralympic Games in a safe and secure environment;

        them;
