and honoring the Martin County Sheriff's Office for their rapid
response and bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin.

Mr. Mast submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the

RESOLUTION
Condemning the attempted assassination of former President Donald J.
Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida,
and honoring the Martin County Sheriff's Office for their rapid
response and bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin.
Whereas, on September 15, 2024, an attempt was made on the life of former
President Donald J. Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in West
Palm Beach, Florida;
Whereas such heinous acts of political violence threaten and undermine the core
values and stability of democracy and the peaceful discourse upon which
the United States was founded;
Whereas former President Donald J. Trump served as the 45th President of the
United States and continues to be a leading figure in American political
life;
Whereas deputies and officers from the Martin County Sheriff's Office responded
rapidly to the threat and demonstrated exceptional bravery,
professionalism, and heroism; and
Whereas the swift actions of the Martin County Sheriff's Office led to the
successful apprehension of the would-be assassin, preventing further
harm: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
(1) condemns the assassination attempt on former President
Donald J. Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in West
Palm Beach, Florida, on September 15, 2024;
(2) honors Martin County Deputy Gedeon Brenovil for his
bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;
(3) honors Martin County Deputy Nicholas C. Shaw for his
bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;
(4) honors Martin County Detective Dominic M. Ferrusi for
his bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;
(5) honors Martin County Detective Aaron Chandler for his
bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;
(6) honors Martin County Sergeant Crystal Nash for her
bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;
(7) honors Martin County Sergeant Brad Spencer for his
bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;
(8) honors Martin County Sergeant Samuel B. Kimmel for his
bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;
(9) honors Martin County Lieutenant Travis Dykes for his
bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;
(10) honors Martin County Major Josh Kloster for his
bravery in apprehending the would-be assassin;
(11) honors the support personnel of the Martin County
Sheriff's Department and other local agencies who aided in
apprehending the would-be assassin; and
(12) calls on all Americans to unite against political
violence, reaffirming the Nation's dedication to peaceful
dialogue and the rule of law.
