Mr. Bost submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the 
                    Committee on Energy and Commerce

                               RESOLUTION


 
      Recognizing the 50th anniversary of Mid-America Transplant.

Whereas Mid-America Transplant has facilitated lifesaving organ, tissue, and eye 
        donation in 84 counties in southern Illinois, eastern Missouri, and 
        northeast Arkansas that together are home to 4.7 million Americans;
Whereas Mid-America Transplant has stewarded the gift of life for more than 
        6,000 organ donors and nearly 40,000 tissue and eye donors, saving and 
        healing the lives of 2.9 million people since its founding in 1974;
Whereas Mid-America Transplant has stood as an innovator among organ procurement 
        organizations, becoming the first in the United States to build an in-
        house operating room for organ recovery and pioneering many clinical 
        advancements to increase the quality and quantity of organs and tissues 
        for transplant;
Whereas Mid-America Transplant was the first organ procurement organization to 
        be recognized as a recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality 
        Award for Performance Excellence, and the only one to receive the honor 
        twice; and
Whereas Mid-America Transplant continues to lead the organ procurement 
        organization industry in advocating for greater accountability and 
        standardized performance metrics so all Americans may be served by a 
        high-performing organ procurement organization: Now, therefore, be it
    Resolved, That the House of Representatives--
            (1) commemorates the 50th anniversary of Mid-America 
        Transplant; and
            (2) celebrates the excellent work to save lives by 
        delivering high-quality organ and tissue donation services.
